While most publications in Spain seem to believe Los Blancos will only move for the Frenchman should he become a free agent in 2024, FIFA agent Marco Kirdemir has suggested that the 24-year-old could join them sooner than expected.
In an interview with Radio Marca on Friday morning, Kirdemir said France's captain will complete a blockbuster deadline-day switch to the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners.
"Kylian Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid today, at the last minute. Florentino (Perez) is intelligent and he kept everything a secret," he claimed.
"I have been in the guild for many years and I have seen many surprises. It will be the bomb of the summer."

He then cited PSG's potential financial issues as motivation for the club needing to sell their all-time record goalscorer.
"UEFA will denounce PSG for breaching the financial fair play regulations," Kirdemir added.
"They need to sell Mbappe, that is the only option."
AS, meanwhile, claims the only feasible way Mbappe can join Los Blancos on deadline day is if he accepts a lower salary than what he earns in Paris.
