After Kaizer Chiefs made a public statement that they explored ways to give former goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune a non-playing role at the club, there is now an update on the future of the veteran shot-stopper.
After Amakhosi confirmed that they were not going to renew Khune's contract at the end of the 2023/24 season, after the former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper was given only a one-year extension a campaign prior.

The Glamour Boys Marketing Director Jessica Motaung, on numerous occasions, in the off-season stated that the club was exploring how they can re-deploy the 37-year-old into the same department or in the media space.
However, the Ventersdorp native goalie has not returned at Chiefs in any capacity and was given an official role as an analyst by SABC Sport TV.
After numerous calls for Khune to consider giving back to the game as a goalkeeper coach, the acrobatic shot-stopper has revealed that he will return actively in the game in that capacity.
"I wanna help the future generation of this country (as a goalkeeper coach) and my services are always available but for now I still want to get qualifications and they are hardly in South Africa, they are outside the country," Khune said on TimesLIVE Video YouTube Channel.
"I've spoken to him (Alex Heredia), two years ago he once invited me to one (of the goalkeeper coach sessions), it made a huge difference in my life because I was going towards retirement and I said you know what, let me do this for the benefit of our country. Because it's sad not to see (South African) goalkeeper coaches.

"Andre Arendse was coaching me at Bafana, he had knee problems, now it's Grant Johnson but what I like, him and Ronwen worked together at SuperSport, so they have that chemistry. I also want to make an impact in the future, I don't know when but once I acquire the qualifications I'll probably start going to clubs (to apply)," the legendary goalkeeper revealed.
Khune is also a shareholder and ambassador of sports betting company Topbet.
