After what was a tumultuous beginning of the transfer window for PSG and Mbappe, tensions between then are now reportedly virtually non-existent.
Les Parisiens went from actively trying to sell their record goalscorer to being rumoured to be negotiating a new contract with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
According to FootMercato, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are on the precipice of being successful regarding the latter, with it being claimed that the Bondy native will sign a new three-year extension with PSG.
That contract would run until 2026, with a gentlemen's agreement also in place that would allow the pacey attacker to move for an unspecified fee come the end of the 2023/24 season, with sporting director Luis Campos said to have played an integral role in persuading the 24-year-old to extend.
This development could upset Real Madrid in their pursuit of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner as they had aspirations of landing the attacker on a free transfer at the end of the season.

As per Marca, Los Blancos wanted Mbappe to sign a pre-contract with them when the January transfer market opens, but with reports suggesting an extension at PSG is now on the horizon, the record European champions are believed to be willing to shift their focus elsewhere as they do not want to negotiate a fee for Mbappe with the French giants.
