It is arguably the biggest game on the DStv Premiership calendar when the two Soweto giants go head-to-head at the FNB Stadium on Saturday 29 October
Chiefs, fresh off a disappointing MTN8 elimination at the hands of AmaZulu, have largely dominated this fixture against Pirates in recent times, having recorded two consecutive wins against the Buccaneers last season.
However, Pirates appear to be collecting momentum after they progressed to the MTN8 final having overcome Mamelodi Sundowns with an emphatic second leg 3-0 win.
It is Chiefs' final league match before the two-month break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile for Pirates, they will have the MTN8 final on 5 November, where they will take on Usuthu in their own back yard and will be hoping for victory to boost their morale ahead of the big clash.
Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane largely has a clean bill of health, although there are concerns over two of his regulars in Itumeleng Khune and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
