Kaizer Chiefs' interest in an international striker could be met with difficulties as the club aims to finalise preparations for the new season.
Chiefs have a pre-season friendly match lined up – the Toyota Cup against Tanzanian giants Young Africans – for July 28 in Bloemfontein, while the supporters are waiting with interest for the announcement of their new signings.

Amakhosi are in Turkiye for their pre-season training, while the club is expected to make announcements regarding the playing personnel, after having only unveiled the new coach in Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team so far.
According to sources, Congolese striker Fiston Mayele remains a target for Nabi to strengthen Chiefs' striking department.
Mayele has been in top form, having scored 17 goals and bagged five assists in over 30 appearances, with Pyramids FC sitting on top of the standings in Egypt ahead of favourites Al Ahly.
"It won't be easy for Chiefs or any club to get Fiston Mayele as things stand. The boy is on top form and is rated highly by Pyramids for their own plans. He is the top goal scorer of the Egyptian Premier League and there is reluctance from Pyramids in terms of listening to offers for him," a source told the Siya crew.

"Nabi wants the player, and Chiefs are a big club with the resources to lure top players, but this one is a different situation. The kind of money that is needed to get the player from Pyramids can be seen as another way of saying he is not for sale. There aren't many clubs that will be willing to spend that much on one player," concluded the source.
It is understood that the 30-year-old's employers are looking for over R30 million for his services. The player is understood to have also attracted interest from overseas.
