Edwin Gyimah's potential move to Magesi FC fell through recently, as he claimed the club failed to present him with a convincing contract, but while he criticises the team, the agent involved alleges the failed deal was of the player's own making.
The 33-year-old was on the verge of signing with the Limpopo-based club, which according to the agent, had prepared a contract for him following initial verbal agreements.

However, late on, Gyimah reportedly backtracked, demanding a revision of the contract terms.
Football agent, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, who represented Gyimah during the talks, stated that the experienced defender left Polokwane for Johannesburg without informing the club, leaving officials puzzled about his sudden change of heart.
Gyimah, who has been without a club since his departure from Sekhukhune United at the end of last season, would arguably have found stability at Magesi FC.
Instead, his unexpected decision now raises concerns about his future prospects, with time running out for the seasoned defender to secure a new team and get back on the pitch.
"My response to the Gyimah fiasco is that Magesi as the football club are not happy with what has since transpired. They are not happy that the player has since proceeded to do a radio interview where he said whatever he had to say after what happened with regards to the failed deal. Before going any further with this, let me first apologise to Magesi for what happened because I am the one who brought them the player thinking that he was going to add value to the team in their push for survival in the league. Unfortunately, with his actions, he has brought the club into disrepute, and I am disappointed with that," said Mulovhedzi.

"Now on to Gyimah and what happened, in my opinion the player is on the wrong side here, unfortunately. He is the one who called me to ask that I look for a job (club) for him, and I called Magesi and convinced the club to consider signing him. He went to the club for assessment and things looked promising. However, he trained for only one day and decided to leave. He didn't even tell me on the day he was leaving, and he just disappeared. It isn't like he was on trial or anything, but the club wanted to see if he had no injury concerns and things like that as they wanted him to be ready for selection immediately due to the team's situation in the league. Despite his actions, I still convinced Magesi management to offer him a contract, and we agreed on everything after I sent the player the contract and he was happy with it after looking at the figures and everything. At the last minute, he changed his mind and said he wanted to change the terms of the contract," concluded the agent.
After hearing from the agent, Mulovhedzi, the Siya crew reached out to Gyimah, and the Ghanaian player painted a very different picture about the turn of events at the Limpopo outfit. He explained why this led to him deciding not to join the club.
Soccer Laduma also contacted Magesi FC for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
