Adding to the silence was the departure of long-serving defender Eric Mathoho, for whom the club held a farewell ceremony at their Naturena headquarters.
The latest news coming out of Amakhosi, according to a well-placed Siya source is that the Amakhosi coach, has most probably received a lifeline – for now.
Part of the conditions handed to the 49-year-old, according to the insider, would be that the club is expected to rope in a senior figure of Zwane's choice to assist him in the technical duties at the club, the Siya crew understands.
In addition, the 49-year-old has been told to shape up in terms of results. Chiefs' eighth season without a trophy and their fifth-place finish in the DStv Premiership was seen as 'disappointing' by the club's management.
Zwane seems to still have the backing of the Chiefs hierarchy for now, given that they are backing him in terms of his technical team and more signings ahead of the new campaign.
Pitso Mosimane meanwhile, who has been linked with the Chiefs job, revealed that there has been no contact from Amakhosi with his management team.Read: Player's Market Value: Monnapule Saleng
