Six minutes after coming off the bench in the Clarets’ latest 0-0 draw against Derby County, the Bafana Bafana star was forced off the pitch with a shoulder injury. It’s the latest knock in what has been a campaign plagued by injuries, as he was out for two months with a knee problem.
Now the 24-year-old forward has hurt his shoulder, and after the stalemate earlier this week, the English tactician alluded to his star being out for a prolonged period.
The Lancashire side are pushing for automatic promotion back to the Premier League and, ahead of their crucial match-up against Norwich City on Friday evening, Parker gave an update on the severity of Foster’s injury.
"It's not looking too good for Lyle," Clarets boss Scott Parker told members of the media in his pre match press conference ahead of his clash with the Canaries, as per BBC.
"We are looking for a second opinion, thankfully it's not as bad as we feared. He hasn't dislocated it but there is still hope that he could play again this season."
These physical setbacks have hindered the Johannesburg native’s ability to build on the good form he had in the Premier League last season. During the ongoing campaign, Foster has only managed three goals and five assists in 30 appearances for the club.
