Last season, his name had been etched into the annals of the league's history when he was voted into the Team of the Season – and he showed that this achievement was no fluke as he picked up from where he left off in the last campaign.
In Aarhus' fourth match of the season, the 25-year-old put in a Man of the Match display in his side's 5-1 win over Vejle, scoring one goal and setting up two more before being subbed off in the 71st minute.
However, amidst the euphoria of the win - their third of the season - and yet another telling performance from the former Cape Town City man, there was a lingering question that loomed large over the speedster, particularly when it comes to his continuous exclusion from the national team with the AFCON qualifiers approaching in September.
Links had last donned the national team jersey in 2021, and despite his exceptional form in Denmark, he had been overlooked by coach Hugo Broos in recent call-ups. As the September qualifiers draw nearer, speculation continues to grow over whether Links would be called back into the fold.
The South African football community and fans alike hope that his outstanding performances for AGF Aarhus would not go unnoticed by the national team selectors.
