When Links first arrived in Denmark in 2019, David Nielsen, who was the AGF head coach at the time, by his own admission thought  'God save me. What are we going to do with him?'," upon first glance of the pacey winger.

Five years on, and Links has not only proven Nielsen wrong, but he also justified the club's former Sporting Director Peter Christianen's gamble on a relatively unknown entity at the time.

Such has been Links' impact, that he has been hailed the best player of the Danish league in the opening five rounds of matches according to Nielsen.

"I would almost go as far as to say that he is close to being the best player in the Superliga in the first five rounds," Nielsen told TV 2 Sports.

The 25-year-old is cognizant of his personal growth during this period, although he is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

"When I look back at my start here, I was a bit small. But now I think I have adapted very well to the Danish league. I'm really happy about that, even though it took some time. David Nielsen and Rubén Sellés and everyone involved, so I'm very happy that I can now just enjoy my football, because everyone knows that the Danish league is very physical. And I have a small body, but I have adapted with my aggressiveness. I am happy," Links said in an interview with TV 2 Sport.
