With Percy Tau and Al Ahly having seemingly buried the hatchet, talks emerging from Egypt have suggested that there has been serious interest in Tau's services from an ambitious Saudi Arabian club.

His two goals and an assist in Al Ahly's 3-0 win over Gor Mahia in the CAF Champions League suggests that Tau is slowly getting back to his best. His stats in the Champions League for Al Ahly make for impressive reading.
This resurgence in form can in part be attributed to Tau and Al Ahly having put the idea of leaving behind them, and honouring the player's contract which runs out in June next year.
Just as he is getting into his stride however, Egyptian publication Elwatan have reported that Tau is the subject of serious interest from Saudi Arabian First Division leaders Neom SC.
The publication have stated that Neom have began talks with Al Ahly over the possible transfer of Tau.
It is an interesting situation for the 30-year-old as he would be eligible to sign a pre-contract with any club of his choice as he enters the last six months of his contract in January, while for Al Ahly, they run the risk of possibly losing Tau on a free transfer, having bought him for a staggering reported €1.8 million (R50 million) in 2021.
