With the FIFA World Cup just over a month away, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori will have a good opportunity to put himself on the market for suitors in Europe or simply increase his chances of securing a new contract with the Buccaneers.

Ofori's contract with the Soweto giants is set to expire in June 2023 and he can sign a pre-contract with any club interested in his services.
Ofori is expected to be part of the Ghanaian squad going to the World Cup in Qatar and he has a good chance of featuring in goal for the Black Stars, having done so on numerous occasions before. The 28-year-old was in goal recently when the Black Stars took on Nicaragua in an international friendly during the recent FIFA break. He kept a clean sheet as the Ghanaians edged the tie 1-0.
At 28, a move abroad cannot be ruled out for Ofori, considering goalkeepers are able to play for longer periods in their careers.
Pirates, however, would probably not want to lose their number one goalkeeper just yet and will decide in the coming months on what happens regarding the player's contract.

Ofori joined the Buccaneers in 2020 from Maritzburg United and it has not been the smoothest ride since then, due to the fact that there has been inconsistency and injuries have also come into play at times.
