5 - Evidence Makgopa
Makgopa was nowhere near Riveiro's favourites in the Spanish coach's first season, as he played only six games and did not score any goal in the 2022/23 campaign.
However, the former Baroka striker became the go-to-man for the soft-spoken coach in his second season, featuring in 26 games and scored six goals.
Just after it was announced that the 47-year-old tactician would not be renewing his contract, the Bafana Bafana striker had scored eight goals in the current season, which has taken his tally of goals to 14 under Riveiro.

4 - Patrick Maswanganyi
Maswanganyi arrived at Pirates in July 2023 with poor stats for an attacking player, as he had scored no goal for SuperSport United in 23 matches in the 2022/23 term.
Riveiro transformed the 26-year-old, as 'Tito' had a dream debut campaign, netting 10 goals and 12 assists and was named Players' Player of the Season.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder had scored five goals at the announcement of the Spanish coach not renewing his contract, with his tally at 15 goals under the Vigo native coach.
3 - Relebohile Mofokeng
Mofokeng was an unknown quality in his first season, the 2022/23 campaign, as he featured only in two matches and scored one goal.
However, Riveiro was instrumental in the 20-year-old making 38 appearances the following term, scoring five goals and five assists.
The Sharpeville native had ten goals after the club's big Riveiro announcement, sitting at 16 goals under the Spanish mentor.

2 - Monnapule Saleng
Saleng benefited immensely from Riveiro spotting his talent in his first full season after returning on loan from Moroka Swallows in the 2022/23 term.
As the former Free State Stars forward scored 15 goals and had 11 assists in his debut campaign, earning also the Players' Player of the Season accolade.
Before his contractual saga with the club, the North West native had scored five goals, taking his total to 25 goals under Riveiro.
1 - Tshegofatso Mabasa
Mabasa has scored the most goals at Pirates under Riveiro, having found the back of the net 26 times.
The Former Bloemfontein Celtic striker has 13 goals this season, identical to the number he scored last season, after he re-joined the Buccaneers from his loan spell at Moroka Swallows in January 2024. Overall, Mabasa had scored 19 goals last season, with six goals coming from Swallows.
