It's been a tough start to life at Chloorkop for one of Mamelodi Sundowns' pre-season signings, but the Siya crew understands that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Sundowns head coch Manqoba Mngqithi revealed not so long ago that defender Kegan Johannes had a setback which delayed the player's progress. He is yet to make an official appearance for the club.
Initially, Johannes was recovering from injury at the time he joined Sundowns. He worked hard to recover and even featured in the matchday squad for the CAF Champions League second round clash against Mbabane Swallows, but he sustained an injury in a friendly match afterwards.
Now, with 2024 coming to an end, Johannes is believed to be heading closer to finally making his debut for the Tshwane giants. Indications are that he has been training with the team and it's now just about getting back to full fitness and fighting for his place in the matchday squad.
It's a big challenge for the former SuperSport United player to get into the team right now, with players way ahead in terms of fitness. Sundowns have featured in four different competitions already this season, while others have also had more game time in the senior national team, Bafana Bafana.

With Sundowns having a number of games to play this season, Johannes is expected to get his opportunity soon.
