The story
Stellenbosch FC has confirmed the signing of Thato Khiba from TS Galaxy today, with the baller penning his goodbye message to Galaxy on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old midfielder spent the past three-and-a-half seasons in South Africa's top flight with stints at The Rockets and Marumo Gallants.
"TS Galaxy Family, I write this message with mixed emotions you guys have been part of me since the day I arrived at the rockets family as I depart I just want you to know you have played a huge role in being a better player/person that I am today," wrote Khiba, to start off his statement.
"To the players, majita, sharing a field with you will always be the best highlight of my stay at TS Galaxy which I will always cherish. To my technical team, to the kit manager and medical staff, actually to everyone in involved with the team, thank you for contributing in my journey," reflected the versatile midfielder.
Khiba joins Stellies as a replacement for Jayden Adams, who moved to Mamelodi Sundowns this transfer window. It is also been reported that Orlando Pirates had shown interest in acquiring his services.
The baller will wear the number 19 jersey at the Cape Winelands club and joins familiar faces at the club, where he'll reuninte with former teammates Lehlogonolo Mojela, who he played with at TS Galaxy and Ismaël Touré, having shared a change room with the Ivorian at Gallants.
To end off his farewell message to The Rockets, Khiba reserved special words for his former employer, TS Galaxy president, Tim Sukazi.
"My Chairman I'am even lost for words you have been a father figure to everyone and you believed in me from the day we met in the office as I leave I will represent you where I am going and you you will always be part of my journey. Thank you," concluded Khiba.
