The story
Prior to Mamelodi Sundowns' 1-1 draw with AS FAR Rabat at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday night in the CAF Champions League, versatile baller Aubrey Modiba inspired a group of what could be Mzansi's future football stars.
Although Modiba did not feature in Masandawana's continental clash on Sunday, 'Postman' made time to visit his alma mater SAFA-Transnet School of Excellence Trials.
The esteemed talent factory, which has recently produced the likes of Siyabonga Mabena, Kutlwano Letlhaku and Relebohile Mofokeng, hosted trials for under-14s on Saturday.
Modiba was swarmed by a host of young trialists, likely inspiring the players to give it their all on the day in hopes of following in his footsteps one day.
As a School of Excellence graduate, Modiba seems to be following the same example set by the legends that used to inspire him and his classmates during his schooling days.
"The retired players used to visit us at the School of Excellence and educate us about how to look after yourself at work and in public‚" he told Ofentse Ratsie in 2017 for Sunday World.
