The story
SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has revealed what he enjoys doing when stepping away from the stressful life of being a coach.
After winning countless honours over a storied coaching career, including four league titles, the veteran coach firmly believes that it's healthy to have other interests outside the beautiful game.
In his down time, the 60-year-old enjoys keeping active as he regards himself as a sports fanatic. What you won't find coach Hunt doing on his off days is sitting and chatting away in a coffee shop.
"Well, I'm a sports fanatic. I don't get time to play but golf is a big passion of mine, I played as a kid. I got to the range and hit a bucket of balls for an hour and-a-half, and just chip and put, I feel better afterwards. Some people can sit in a coffee shop and drink coffee, I can't do that, talk sh*t, I can't have that," says the Matsatsantsa mentor during his podcast interview with Nono Pongolo.
Although he's loving life in land-locked Johannesburg, Hunt still enjoys the therapeutic nature of the ocean and how it makes him feel better if he's enduring a bad spell of results:
"I like to exercise a bit, ride a bicycle. I love the sea, I love the beach. If I've had a bad run, I go to the beach, to wash all the muthi and the bad energy out of me," jokes Hunt.
