The story
Former Kaizer Chiefs star, Bernard Parker, maintains that he has forgiven Bongani Zungu for the reckless tackle that nearly ended his career.
In October 2023, Parker faced a career-threatening injury following a harsh challenge by Zungu during a Carling Knockout Cup match at Mbombela Stadium.
Parker recently appeared on the Marawa Sports Worldwide show on 94.7 and in was asked by a listener if things ever got hashed out between the veteran and the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.
The newly-appointed TS Galaxy DStv Diski Challenge coach confirmed months ago that Zungu apologised to him via Instagram and received flowers from the Masandawana camp during his recovery.
Although an apology didn't come right away from Zungu, with Parker once mentioning in a radio interview that he hadn't received a formal apology from 'Ben 10'.

Despite the tension between the two players, that spilled over with their former coaches Sead Ramovic and Rulani Mokwena nearly came to blows in TS Galaxy and Mamelodi Sundowns' 1-1 draw in the league back in April, Parker seems ready to move on from the incident.
That dramatic 1-1 draw was Parker's first back in action from the leg break he suffered from Zungu's challenge and it also saw Coincidentally, one of the Rockets' ex-players, Orebotse Mongae sent off for injuring the ex-Rangers midfielder.
The incident sparked talks that the player was sent by TS Galaxy to get revenge, with the Mpumalanga-based side threatening Rulani Mokwena with legal action for insinuating that Ramovic sent Mongae on a mission to hurt Zungu.
"I have never had a personal relationship with Bongani Zungu. Throughout both of our careers, we played together a couple of times for Bafana Bafana, but it was just normal professionalism. When this incident happened, he did apologise on an Instagram DM, I replied and he was was forgiven, he didn't reply after that. Later on, I find out that he unfollowed me and there was no follow-up from him.
"I never received any call from the Sundowns coach as well. I did receive a card and flowers from the Sundowns management," recounted Parker on Marawa's show.
"I found it strange," said Parker, on Zungu unfollowing him on Instagram, adding: "I was still in hospital at the time and when I got out of hospital, I was recovering at home, doing physio and stuff, Mr Petersen, who used to visit me a lot in hospital, my life coach, I said to him: 'I think we should reach out to him so that we can shake hands. I wanted him to touch me so that he could give me that healing blessing. We tried to reach out but we weren't successful."
