Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid
Arsenal have one foot in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after defeating defending champions Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final.
Mikel Arteta recalled Bukayo Saka after starting the last two games on the bench for the Gunners, while Jakub Kiwior joined William Saliba in the heart of the defence.
Los Blancos, meanwhile, started David Alaba at left-back due to the absence of Ferland Mendy while Federico Valverde slotted in at right-back.
The first half did not produced any big moments, but the Gunners took the lead in the 58th minute courtesy of a wonderful free-kick from Declan Rice.
Rice was not done there as the Gunners midfielder doubled the lead on 70 minutes with another sublime free-kick that gave Thibaut Courtois no chance.
Arteta's men went on to grab a third goal four minutes later when Mikel Merino found the back of the net with a lovely first-time finish on the edge of the box.
Carlo Ancelotti's men will now have a mountain to climb in the second leg, especially after Eduardo Camavinga was sent off late in the second half with his second yellow card of the game.
Bayern Munich 1-2 Inter Milan
Inter Milan grabbed a slight advantage in the tie after defeating Bayern Munich 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Harry Kane was able to overcome a knock to return to the Bayern starting line-up, while the Germans were without rising star Jamal Musiala.
The Bavarians should have taken the lead in the 26th minute when Michael Olise weaved his way into the box to set up Kane, who hit the upright with only goalkeeper Yann Sommer to beat.
The hosts were made to rue that miss as Inter took the lead seven minutes before the break as Marcus Thuram's neat flick set up Lautaro Martinez, who sent a first-time finish into the back of the net.
Second-half substitute Thomas Muller pulled Bayern level in the 84th minute, before Davide Frattesi restored Inter's lead four minutes later.
