Last week, the Bavarians' sporting director Max Eberl admitted that, while they are actively trying, getting playmaker Jamal Musiala to put pen to paper on a new deal will be extremely difficult.
The 21-year-old Germany international is a product of Bayern's youth academy and having risen through the ranks to become one of the club's most important players, the playmaker is now approaching the final year of his current contract at the Allianz Arena.
The Stuttgart native's existing contract expires in 2026, and it seems that some of Europe's other elite sides are keen on luring Musiala away from the Bundesliga juggernauts.
According to teamTALK, the clubs that are leading the way regarding the 36-cap Germany international's situation are Los Blancos and the Citizens.
In the case of the Spanish giants, they are keen on finding an attacker who can provide Jude Bellingham with competition, while City are seemingly eager to have a suitable successor to Kevin De Bruyne, who has less than a year remaining on his current contract.

The same report claims that the Mancunians are willing to table an offer in the region of €100 million (R1.9 billion) for Musiala, but it is understood the Premier League champions may need to go higher if they want to appease Die Roten, who reported value him at €130 million, and successfully price a team like Real out.
