Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with a shock move for a Liverpool star.
Klopp 'Makes Decision' On Liverpool Future
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners are considering a move for Brazil forward Roberto Firmino.
The ex-Hoffenheim man has been a pivotal part of Liverpool's success since his arrival in 2015, having contributed to an impressive 185 goals in 348 appearances.
In recent seasons, however, Firmino has seen his influence in the side wane as injuries and a lack of effectiveness in front of goal have caused him to lose his status in the team.
That has seemingly not deterred Los Blancos, though, who are said to believe the 31-year-old could be a strong back-up option to retired France international Karim Benzema, who has battled with fitness issues of his own in this campaign.
For now, the only other recognised central attacking option in Real's first team is Mariano Diaz, who has been overlooked even in Benzema's absence.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has in recent days expressed his desire for Firmino to continue at Anfield, with the former Bundesliga man's deal in England set to expire at the end of the campaign.
Fati Linked With Three Premier League Clubs!
The club's board might be tempted to offer the player only a short-term extension, however, considering he has missed the Reds' past six games in the Premier League due to injury.
