It has been claimed that Barcelona could get rid of three players in order to bring Lionel Messi back to the club at the end of the season.
Official: PSG Confirm Neymar News
According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's potential return to the Catalan giants cannot be ruled out.
Messi, now 35 years old, left his boyhood side in 2021 as a free agent before joining Paris Saint-Germain, where his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
Romero has claimed that while the Argentine re-signing for the LaLiga leaders would be "very difficult", the Blaugrana do not believe it would be an impossible task.
The club could potentially seek to sell some high-profile first-team players in order to bring Messi back to the Camp Nou, such as left-back Jordi Alba and winger Ansu Fati.
Sergio Busquets could also be allowed to depart Barcelona in the board's attempts to lure the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner back to Spain, as well as to reduce their wage budget to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions in LaLiga.
