The France superstar did not participate in pre-season training after he was excluded from all first-team squad activities for not wanting to re-sign with the club.
The 24-year-old did not play a single friendly and even watched Paris Saint-Germain's opening league match of the season against Lorient from the stands as he looked destined to be leaving the Parc des Princes this off-season.
There has since, however, been a change of circumstance as the attacker has been reintegrated into the squad, with the pacey forward even scoring on his return to the team.
Now, according to Bild, Los Blancos are still willing to bring the player to the Spanish capital in this window, but will only place a bid late on for the Bondy native so that they can put pressure on PSG to sell.
The same report claims that the record European champions are going to bid €120 million (R2.4 billion) for the France captain as they look to take advantage the uncertainty surrounding the player's long-term future at the club.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is now in the final 12 months of his current contract, but despite having seemingly made up with the French club, the possibility of him leaving for Real, in this window or in June next year, remains an ever-growing possibility.
