Messi's 'Team' Responds To His Brother's Bizarre Barca Rant

Messi's 'Team' Responds To His Brother's Bizarre Barca Rant

Lionel Messi's brother has been involved in a bizarre rant relating to Barcelona, claiming there was one condition on which his superstar sibling would return to the Catalan club. The Paris Saint-Germain forward's representatives, however, have responded with a statement.

PSG Urged To Get Rid Of Messi

According to ESPN, the 35-year-old's team of representatives have distanced themselves from comments made by the footballer's brother, Matias Messi, on Wednesday.

"They are exclusively the individual and personal opinion of Matias, which does not have to be or coincide with that of Leo or that of other relatives, friends or people close to him," they insisted.

Publications in Spain carried comments Matias made about his family's relationship with the Blaugrana in a since-deleted Twitch video, in which he was answering questions via his son's account.

Matias claimed the club "began to be known because of Messi because before, no one knew it, they knew (Real) Madrid", before hitting out at the manner in which Barcelona handled the Argentine's departure in 2021.

He continued by stating that Barcelona's stadium museum is "Messi's museum" and that he is revealing his thoughts on the matter so that the public can see "what comes out of our guts".

Matias proceeded to call the club's supporters "traitors" for not rallying for president Joan Laporta to leave amid his push for Messi's free-agent departure, saying his brother would only return to the Spanish giants if they could do a "clean-up" that included the club chief.

PSG Chief Confirms Messi Plan

The PSG forward has been linked with a move back to his boyhood side ever since his shock exit one-and-a-half seasons ago, with his deal in France set to expire at the end of the campaign.
