Inter Miami are reportedly keen to reunite Lionel Messi with one of his long-time international teammates.

Earlier this week, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner shocked the football world when he announced he would be joining the Major League Soccer franchise after the expiration of his Paris Saint-Germain contract this month.
As the American side prepares for his arrival, they are also believed to be interested in further bolstering their squad, and one of the names at the top of their priority list is believed to be Angel Di Maria.
The 35-year-old attacker is set to leave Juventus in the coming weeks, and the Miami-based outfit would reportedly like to pair Messi with his long-time international teammate.
According to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the David Beckham co-owned side is pushing hard to reunite the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner with his fellow Rosario native, with Di Maria is said to be on a list, alongside Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, of former Messi teammates they are trying to bring to the DRV PNK Stadium.
As per Fichajes, though, the winger's intention is still to play in Europe, specifically Benfica. The Estadio da Luz is where Di Maria began his adventure on the continent in 2008 and 13 years after his departure from the Portuguese capital, it seems the attacker wants to reunite with the Eagles.

However, it appears the close friendship he and Messi share may be enough to entice the ex-Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid star to make his way across the Atlantic Ocean and become another superstar arrival in the MLS.
