After leaving Bayern Munich in a surprise deadline-day move, Manchester United's new signing revealed what made him take the opportunity to join Erik ten Hag's team for the remainder of the season.
9 Stars Who Could Leave Man Utd
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Red Devils announced they had struck a deal to sign Austria international Marcel Sabitzer on loan from the Bavarians.
The 28-year-old made a name for himself during his impressive seven-year spell at RB Leipzig between 2014 and 2021, before he reunited with Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern.
His time at the German champions, however, has not gone according to plan, having scored just two goals in 54 appearances for the club prior to making the switch to United.
Sabitzer has said he was excited after finding out the English giants' interest in his services, and felt he had to jump at the chance to help the team end the season strongly.
"Sometimes in life, you have to make quick and important decisions," he said, according to the club's official website.
"From the moment I heard about this opportunity, I knew it was right for me. I am a competitive player; I want to win and help the club achieve its aims this season.
"I feel that I am at my peak as a player, and that I can contribute a lot of experience and energy to the squad.
