A former FC Barcelona star has slammed Ronald Koeman's training methods and blamed the Dutchman for his decision to leave the Camp Nou.
Miralem Pjanic joined the Catalan giants in 2020 but struggled get into the side when Koeman was in charge at the club.
Messi's Camp 'Deny' Barcelona Agreement
The Bosnian opted to join Besiktas on loan before he eventually parted ways with the LaLiga side in the last transfer window.
"I was surprised by Koeman's training sessions. They lasted a short time. Without intensity, without tactics, without ideas… he did not prepare the matches.," Pjanic told Spanish outlet Què t'hi Jugues.
"Now I see differences. Like in Juventus. The workouts are very intense. Xavi was very clear with us. And he said: here this year you are going to run and you're going to go at 2,000 per hour in each training session.
"The great pain I have is that I didn't do what I wanted to do at Barça. I had a bad time with Koeman and that was the reason why I went to Besiktas.
"On the contrary, with Xavi and the staff the relationship was phenomenal. How he trains, other lights were seen. And you see that the team is something else."
