With growing uncertainty around Xavi Hernandez's future as Barcelona head coach, the club reportedly only wants one man to replace him should he be fired at the end of the season.

Their final 2023/24 league match will be against Sevilla away on Sunday, and it is said that it is only after that encounter at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan that the Terrassa native will find out his fate from club president Joan Laporta.
It appears unlikely he will continue in his role on the Barca bench, and sporting director Deco reportedly already has a replacement in mind for his former teammate, and it is another ex-colleague of his at the Catalan giants in Rafa Marquez.
The former defensive midfielder joined the five-time European champions as player in 2003 and spent seven years at the club.
He is now the head coach of Barca's second team, Barca Atletic, and because of the lack of value Deco sees in the current managerial market, coupled with the club's intention to introduce more La Masia graduates into the first team, the Portuguese executive views the Mexican as the only suitable replacement for Xavi, according to Sport.

Managers such has Hansi Flick and Roberto De Zerbi have been linked with the job in Catalonia, but with the Spanish giants still navigating their way through a difficult financial situation, the same report states that Deco does not feel comfortable taking a huge financial risk on a manager who does not have a certainty of working out.
