Spanish giants Barcelona have announced their seventh departure ahead of the 2024/25 season.

On Monday night, the LALIGA outfit confirmed that midfielder Oriol Romeu has joined Girona on a season-long loan deal after just one year at the Blaugrana.

The 32-year-old returned to his boyhood club from Girona in 2023, but struggled to make an impact as he played only 930 minutes of league football.
Romeu, formerly of Chelsea and Southampton in England, is now back at Girona after they qualified for a place in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League against all odds.

The midfielder is the seventh player to leave the Catalan club in this transfer window, after Marcos Alonso, Sergi Roberto, Sergino Dest, Estanis Pedrola, Marc Guiu and Chadli Riad.
