Following the sacking of Xavi as head coach, Barcelona have officially announced their new manager for the 2024/25 season.

Hansi Flick has been confirmed by the Catalan giants as their manager heading into the new campaign.
The 59-year-old succeeds Xavi Hernandez, who was in charge of the Blaugrana since 2021, and now becomes the first German to lead the Spanish outfit side since Udo Lattek between 1981 and 1983.

The Heidelberg native will be coaching outside of Germany for the first time in his career as he looks to help Barca return to the summit of Spanish and European football.

Flick's previous position was head coach of the German national team, but after he was ousted after a run of poor results, he had taken a brief sabbatical from football management.
Now, he returns to club football for the first time since leaving Bayern Munich in 2021 to succeed Xavi in Catalonia.

With Barca having relinquished their LALIGA crown to Real Madrid this past season, Flick will be looking to win the Spanish top-flight title while also ending the Blaugrana's 10-year wait for UEFA Champions League success.
