According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana's sporting director Deco has met with the representatives and father of Spanish attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.
The 25-year-old was once a player of the club's famed La Masia academy, but left for Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb when he was 16.
He has since gone on to establish him as a quality playmaker in world football, having left Croatia in 2020 to sign for Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.
He is now a regular for his national team, having made the squad for his country's last appearance at the UEFA European Championship, as well as for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The same report claims that Olmo's acquisition is a clear goal for the LALIGA champions as they look to incorporate a midfielder who is able to arrive late into the box.
The Catalan giants are, however, not the only European club that is keen on signing the Terrassa native, with Manchester City, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea all believed to be tracking the player.

While he did sign an extension at the Red Bull Arena in June 2023, that deal is said to include a €60 million (R1.2 billion) release clause. It is also believed Olmo no longer sees his long-term future in Germany, opening the door for Barca, and other interested suitors, to make a move on the versatile midfielder.
