With Erik ten Hag now without the services of Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw due to injury for the foreseeable future, the Red Devils are reportedly scrambling to find a new left-back before the window shuts.
A number of names have been mooted as possible targets for the Red Devils, with the likes of Rico Henry of Brentford and Chelsea's Marc Cucurella said to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Another notable name on that list is Spain international Marcos Alonso.
At the beginning of last season, the Madrid native left Chelsea and the English top flight for the Camp Nou, but according to ESPN, the ex-Bolton and Sunderland wing-back has no intention of returning to the Premier League and is intent on continuing his adventure with Xavi Hernandez's side.
Alonso started his first match of the campaign against Villarreal this past weekend, which is perhaps an indication that he is still firmly in the LALIGA champions' plans for the season ahead.
