After his return to Atletico Madrid was made permanent earlier this week, Antoine Griezmann has, for the first time, spoken following his exit from Barcelona.

The 31-year-old initially returned to the Metropolitano Stadium on a two-year loan deal, but on Monday, it was confirmed that Los Rojiblancos and the Blaugrana had agreed a fee that would see the Frenchman rejoin the Madrid club where he established himself as one of the best forwards in world football.
Speaking for the first time since his €20 million (R350 million) move back to the Spanish capital was announced, Griezmann revealed he is delighted that he will be donning the famous red and white of Atletico for the next four years.
"I'm very happy," the 31-year-old said via Atletico Madrid's official twitter account, as per Sport.
"It's what I've wanted since I got here, to be an Atletico again and enjoy this club.
"I did everything I could to stay here. It was the only thing I wanted, to stay at a club that loves me.
"Thanks to [Atletico manager Diego] Simeone, I have reached my best level.
"I have a lot of respect for him. It is an honour for me to give everything for him."
The France international has had an unusual start to the 2022/23 campaign, having been used sparingly by Simeone due to a clause Atleti and Barca had agreed in the original terms of his loan deal, but that will no longer be an issue.
At no other club has the Macon native been more prolific than he has been at home of the 11-time LaLiga champions, with Griezmann having scored 144 goals in just 304 appearances for the Rojiblancos.
