Treble winners Manchester City are reportedly closing in on their first major signing for the 2023/2024 season.
Despite winning all the major trophies this season, manager Pep Guardiola is not resting on his laurels and plans to bolster the squad once again.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that that Man City have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig star defender Josko Gvardiol.
Gvardiol starred for Croatia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and helped RB Leipzig secured third spot in the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal title this past season.

Romano added that talks between Man City and Leipzig are set to begin, although the Bundesliga side will not sell their star defender for less than €100million.
Should the Citizens agree to Leipzig's demands, the Croatia international will become the most expensive defender in football history, a tag which is currently held by Manchester United captain Harry Maguire after his €87million move from Leicester City in 2019.
