Transfer expert David Ornstein has reported that the Citizens have struck an agreement with Atletico Madrid over the sale of Julian Alvarez.
The Argentina international has recently discussed his role at the club, admitting he wants to start in more big games.
Despite playing 54 times last season for the Premier League champions, the 24-year-old now looks set to join the Spanish giants in this window.
It is claimed Los Rojiblancos will part ways with about €95 million, including add-ons, to land the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2024 Copa America winner's signature.
Alvarez only joined Pep Guardiola's side in 2022 after leaving River Plate in his native Argentina, and now appears destined to leave following 103 appearances.
The striker has contributed to 54 goals since his arrival at the Etihad and has celebrated six trophy wins, including the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League title.
