As per the club's official website, the Bavarian giants have taken the decision to suspend their Senegalese talisman for their weekend encounter against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
In addition to the suspension, the 31-year-old will also be handed a fine for his role in the fight that transpired after their 3-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The suspension and fine come after the reigning CAF African Men's Player of the Year reportedly punched winger Sane in the changing room after their loss at the Etihad Stadium earlier this week.
The pair initially had a disagreement on the pitch over a run the Senegalese forward made late in the encounter, and angry by the way he was spoken to by the German, the 31-year-old reportedly struck his teammate in the face after the match.
Mane's suspension comes at a time when Thomas Tuchel is still bedding in as head coach of Die Roten, and while he has the tough task of overturning their three-goal deficit in Europe, he will likely not welcome the need for disciplinary action for one of his star players.
