Samu is eligible to represent the Super Eagles due to his parents, but he has now revealed he is only interested in representing the Spanish national side.
"Spain has given me the opportunity and I am very grateful for it," told Diario AS
"I don't think about Nigeria. My goal is to debut with the senior side and have my career in Spain."
Omorodion has also opened up about how Atletico wanted to sign him after scoring against them in LaLiga.
"I played against them on a Monday and on Tuesday they told me that they wanted me and the next everything was closed," he added.
"It was very fast. They told me and I didn't believe it. But if it happened like that it's because it had to happen. I was quite calm because I knew it was a unique opportunity."
