With the Egyptian season recently coming to an end, it was yet another successful campaign for the Red Devils.
The Club of the Century were able to extend their title records in both the Egyptian Premier League and CAFCL under their Swiss manager Marcel Koller.
This marked the second successive season they were able to be triumphant both domestically and on the continent under the 63-year-old, and while he may be highly regarded within the halls of the El Tetsh Stadium, this was not always the case.
During Koller's first campaign in charge of Ahly, the north African giants suffered a mammoth 5-2 defeat to Masandawana at Loftus Versfeld in continental competition in March 2023.
They were almost eliminated from the tournament as a consequence of that result, and goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy has revealed that the first-leg scoreline spurred them on to go and win African club football's premier prize once again.
"In terms of numbers and trophies, we got everything. We didn't expect to lose by five goals, we were doing very well with Marcel Koller," the club captain revealed, as per Kora Plus.
