Speaking on the weekend, former Nigeria forward Olusegun Odegbami said he believes the three-time winners will progress past South Africa to book a place in the final against the Ivory Coast, whom he believes will reach the final.
On Friday, Ademola Lookman continued his fine form in front of goal to inspire the Super Eagles to a 1-0 quarter-final win over Angola, while heroics from goalkeeper and captain Ronwen Williams saw Bafana beat Cape Verde on penalties.
Odegbami, 71, is sure Nigeria will go all the way in the competition.
"I said long before the finals that we would be champions of Africa. Many people thought I was just sounding off. Now, they are seeing their light. Everyone appears to believe now that the Super Eagles can do it," he said, according to BusinessDay.
"Now that we are in the semi-finals, I see that we are going to be playing the host nation, Cote d'Ivoire in the final.
"We are beating South Africa and Cote d'Ivoire will beat the Democratic Republic of Congo. The stage is set for a classic final match on 11 February."
