The story
PSL fans from various factions have taken to Twitter/X to discuss the absence of winger Monnapule Saleng. The 26-year-old has not played for the team since December and has scored two goals in just three league appearances this season.
The online debate is dominated by the Happy People, who have expressed frustration over Saleng's absence, particularly given his pivotal role in the club's success over the past two seasons, including winning the Player's Player of the Season award in 2022/23.
So far this season, Saleng has netted five goals and provided an assist in 13 appearances across all competitions for the Sea Robbers, in what initially seemed like his comeback after a difficult 2023/24 campaign.
Speculation on Saleng being iced out of thee Bucs grew further when the ex-Swallows baller was spotted feeding cattle in what looked like a farm.
With conversation surround the player grew further when head coach, Jose Riveiro refused to answer the media on Saleng's situation.

Here's what fans have been saying on fleet-footed winger online:
Monnapule Saleng just disappeared off the face of the earth. Top 5 hottest commodities in the PSL 2 seasons ago, a Bafana international, he has just stopped playing and no one credible can give us answers. The club, the coach, the player, the media, this is amateur league conduct

Mind you we were told there's no situation. Man is now home feeding cattle. From making them end their 10 years cup drought to getting this evil, awful treatment. Fear mafias pic.twitter.com/BC9PJlAXsE
The same opposition fans up in arms about Saleng right now...are the same people who were questioning and discrediting his football abilities when he was playing...even their club legends.

I'm not a Pirates fan but where is Saleng? Him not playing is doing damage not only to Pirates but to SA football. I was hoping he'd be picked for Bafana Bafana and perform well there. We have a busy year. https://t.co/bW5dHgZVey
