While Bafana Bafana international Zakhele Lepasa continues his road to recovery from a long-term injury, the 27-year-old featured as a cover star for Successful Man Magazine.
Lepasa, who is yet to make an appearance for the Buccaneers this season, opened up about his journey in football from humble beginnings to playing for Pirates and the national men's senior team.
The centre forward spoke to the digital magazine about his life beyond the beautiful game and how he keeps his feet on the ground despite playing for one of the biggest clubs in Africa.
"Despite the fame and accolades, Lepasa remains a humble man. Off the pitch, he enjoys unwinding with golf, frustrating yet therapeutic, as he describes it.
"Family and friends keep him grounded, reminding him of the young boy who once played barefoot in Soweto, dreaming of stadiums filled with roaring fans," read the Magazine's preview for Lepasa's cover story.
In terms of looking out for aspiring footballers, Lepasa offered simple advice according to his Successful Man Mag feature, stating:
"Believe in yourself. Work hard. Pray..." with the preview reading, "He firmly believes that our dreams are glimpses of what's to come, but only if we work towards making them a reality."
