It seems that the South African attacker is edging closer to an exit from the Cairo International Stadium as the January transfer market approaches.
There has been intense speculation surrounding the Witbank native's future at the club since the beginning of the season. However, with Al Ahly believed not to have received satisfactory offers during the off-season window, the 2023 CAF Interclubs Player of the Year began the new campaign with the Red Devils.
With the mid-season transfer window on the verge of re-opening, it appears that new suitors for Tau have emerged. According to Kooora, one unnamed Qatari side has sent an offer to the Club of the Century for the 46-capped international, but the same report claims that a source from within the Egyptian side has confirmed that Chiefs have also submitted an offer.
It remains to be seen whether the bid from the Glamour Boys is enough for the 12-time CAF Champions League winners, but it seems that Al Ahly are determined to free up some foreign spots ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
