A former Kaizer Chiefs-linked boss has reportedly been dismissed from his position with a North African giant.

A number of managers were rumoured to be in contention for the vacant Amakhosi head coach position during this past off-season. The Glamour Boys ultimately appointed Nasreddine Nabi as the man to lead them for the foreseeable future, but a manager who was also believed to be in the running for the post is Portuguese tactician Alexandre Santos.
The Lisboa native was tremendously successful during his tenure in the Girabola with Angolan giants Petro de Luanda. The former Sporting CP assistant manager secured three top-flight titles in the nation's capital, ending a 13-year league trophy drought.
Despite his success in Angola, Santos announced that the 2023/24 season would be his last with Petro, allowing other African giants to attempt to lure him to their respective clubs.
Soccer Laduma exclusively revealed that there were discussions with the Soweto giants, but the South African outfit opted to go in a different direction with Nabi, while the former was hired by Algerian juggernauts CS Sfaxien.
While Santos' time with the Arabian Juventus started off brilliantly, winning four of his first six matches in charge, victories have been hard to come by ever since. After defeating EGS Gafsa 2-0 in the league in October, Sfaxien have only managed two more top-flight wins, while they have lost all three of their CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches.

According to Radio Mosaique, the club's chiefs have now decided to part ways with Santos and are in negotiations with the tactician over the details over the termination of his contract.
