The Red Devils have been believed to be trying to sell the Bafana Bafana winger in this transfer window in an effort to proceed with their transfer plans.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the Egyptian outfit wants to integrate another foreign attacker within its ranks and due to Tau's drop off in form in this campaign, Ahly are said to be keen on sacrificing him for the pursuit of the new target.
It is understood that so far, the Club of the Century have not received any offers they deem suitable for the Witbank native and because of that, the 30-year-old is still on their books. One of the clubs that are keen on the forward's services is Wydad Athletic Club.
The Moroccan giants are now being led by Tau's former youth team coach at Mamelodi Sundowns Rulani Mokwena and the 37-year-old seems to be keen on reuniting with his ex-player at senior level in Casablanca.
There had been rumours that the Red Castle had tabled an offer for the winger earlier in the window, but according to Al-Mountakhab, the record Moroccan league winners have returned to try to sign the reigning CAF Inter-club's Player of the Year.

It remains to be seen whether the three-time African champions will place a suitable offer which Ahly deem worthy, but if it isn't, then it is likely that Tau will stay with Marcel Koller's side for the remainder of his contract as they are unwilling to payout the full $1.2 million (R21.2 million) left on it.
