After his seven-year stay at City between 2016 and last year, the midfielder penned a two-year deal with the Catalan giants as a free agent.
Gundogan impressed under since-departed Barca manager Xavi Hernandez, contributing to 19 goals across all competitions.
He will now be in blue again after completing a free move back to the Premier League champions, with whom he collected 14 trophies, including the UEFA Champions League.
This transfer comes after new Blaugrana coach Hansi Flick decided the 33-year-old would need to fight for his place in the team.
Gundogan captained the Citizens in their historic 2022/23 treble campaign, during which he scored 11 goals from midfield.

Reports suggest that key in the deal between Barcelona and City materialising was Pep Guardiola, who made it clear he wanted the retired Germany international back in his side.
