According to Mail Sport, the EPL and City will go to trial in late 2024 over the allegations the Manchester-based giants are facing.
Early in 2023, the Premier League accused the Citizens of breaching financial rules 115 times from the 2009/10 season onwards, leading to questions over the club's status in the division and Pep Guardiola's future.
While the actual date at this point is yet to be confirmed, it appears court proceedings will only begin late next year and that a verdict might only be reached in 2025.
The investigation was launched by the Premier League in 2018, with the competition having alleged that City withheld information from them and misrepresented financial records.
The report claims statements are currently being taken from witnesses and that this process will likely continue until 2024.
