According to the host of CBS' UEFA Champions League broadcast, Kate Abdo, the Argentine declined an offer to appear on their punditry show following his 2022 row with Jamie Carragher.
Last year, the ex-Liverpool defender claimed Manchester United made a mistake by signing Cristiano Ronaldo in 2021, and referenced Paris Saint-Germain's decision to land Messi as another example of poor transfer business.
Carragher later revealed the Argentine messaged him on social media to call him a "donkey" over his comments, with it appearing the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner still has not forgiven the former England international.
"You know that we made an official invitation extended one to Inter Miami and we asked him to come on the show, do you know what the official response was?" Abdo asked the cast on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.
"Apparently Lionel Messi will not be doing any television shows that Jamie Carragher is a part of."

Abdo's remarks followed on from a debate on the show over who the greatest player of all time between Messi and Ronaldo is, with Carragher insisting the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner is streets ahead of his rival.
