With Brazil having dropped Antony after he was accused of domestic abuse, Manchester United have released a statement regarding the Selecao international.

Earlier this week, the Brazilian Football Confederation announced that its national team would not be taking the winger on international duty due to the current allegations he is facing.
An ex-girlfriend of the footballer has accused him of attacking her while she was pregnant, damaging her breast implant and threatening to throw her out of a speeding car.

With United having so far been quiet on the matter, the club has now issued a statement to acknowledge the allegations.
"Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the Police are conducting enquiries," it read.
"Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments.
"As a club, we are taking this matter seriously, with consideration of the impact of these allegations and subsequent reporting will have on survivors of abuse."

Antony has featured in all four of United's Premier League matches so far this season.
