The recently passed window was a drama-filled and busy one, with top Premier League sides such as Manchester United and Liverpool among those that worked until deadline day to strengthen their respective squads.
The Red Devils signed Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce, and secured the loan arrivals of Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina and Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur, but that wasn't where the 20-time English champions called it a day.
Veteran centre-back Jonny Evans, 35, was also re-signed on a one-year deal to cap off a busy final day of the window.
While those are the deals you know about, perhaps you may have missed one or two transfers…
In Spain, with the headline news surrounding Barcelona last week Friday was the loan arrivals of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, fans could be forgiven for missing the fact that the Catalan giants agreed to sell talented Morocco international Abde Ezzalzouli to Real Betis for just €7.5 million (R154.4 million).
The Blaugrana also bid farewell to Spanish centre-back Eric Garcia, at least for this season. He agreed to secure himself regular first-team football at Girona after struggling to impress Xavi Hernandez since his return to Barca from City.
Staying in Spain, 14-time UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid sold 27-year-old right-back Alvaro Odriozola to Real Sociedad, the club the fullback's professional career started at in 2017.
In England, Arsenal announced two departures on deadline day, in the form of Albert Sambi Lokonga, who joined Luton Town on loan, and Rob Holding, who signed a permanent deal with Crystal Palace. Their rivals Spurs, however, completed the biggest signing in the final hours of the English window as they welcomed Wales international Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest for €55 million (R1.1 billion).
Over in Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, Steven Gerrard lured yet another ex-Liverpool star to the Middle East when Al Ettifaq announced the signing of Paris Saint-Germain's Georginio Wijnaldum, while Juan Bernat also left the French giants to join Benfica in Portugal on loan.
