The 21-year-old has been suspended by the Red Devils since his arrest in January 2022 after being charged with sexual offences and violence against a woman.
The Englishman was arrested and charged with attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour after disturbing footage and images were released online by the woman.
However, those charges were dropped by the British authorities earlier this year, leaving the Bradford native with the option of returning to playing professional football.
The Red Devils have been conducting an investigation of their own into the matter and, according to The Sun, the club will make a verdict on whether they will reintegrate him to the squad or move him on this month.
The England international was photographed training alone last week, and there are rumoured to be a number of suitors interested in the forward's services. Some of them are said to hail from Serie A, with AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan all keen on landing the young star's services for the upcoming season.
The most recent team believed to be serious about taking on the striker is AS Roma, with Jose Mourinho said to have contacted the marksman in a bid to lure him to the Stadio Olimpico.
"Jose rang Mason's dad and also spoke with Mason. He told him the best way out of his current situation is to start playing football – and that eventually all the hassle will fade away," a source claimed, as per The Sun.

"Mason was pleased that he got in touch and it has lifted his spirits.
"He wants to get back playing and is just waiting for United to tell him what the future holds."
